Dr. Anh-Tuan N. Truong

Chicago Breast and Body Aesthetics is the practice of Dr. Anh-Tuan Truong. He is double board-certified, first by the American Board of Surgery, an ABMS board, and also by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and a member of the American Society of Cosmetic Breast Surgery.

Education and training

After a surgical internship at the University of Illinois Chicago’s Metropolitan Group Hospitals, he completed five further years of general surgery, including cancer surgery, vascular surgery, trauma, and minimally invasive surgery, and a year devoted to burn injury at the Cook County Hospital Burn Center.

He served as chief resident at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Lutheran General Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, and St. Francis Hospital. During training his research in skin regeneration and artificial skin was published, and he received awards for that work.

He then entered the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery fellowship, a year limited to aesthetic surgery: face, breast, body, liposuction and sculpting, and laser. After that he apprenticed for a year with Dr. Michael Byun at Chicago Cosmetic Surgery.

He holds medical licenses in Illinois, New York, Florida, and Indiana, and he has had operating and admitting privileges for cosmetic and general surgery. From 2007 to 2014 he built Tampa Bay Surgical Arts. In 2014 he returned to Chicago and opened Chicago Breast & Body Aesthetics.

Research and awards

He has been featured in local publications and was named among America’s top surgeons in cosmetic surgery by the Consumers’ Research Council of America. Patients’ Choice Award, 2011 through 2015. Top 10 Doctor, metro area. Compassionate Doctor Award, five-year honoree.
